i've tried to get into coding many, many times but am still highly inexperienced. figured modding might be better. i'm trying to make a custom slugcat using slugbase and, even after the explanation on the docs, i have zero idea how writing custom features is supposed to work. some things i would like to do with my custom slugcats that it seems i can't do with preset features include:

  • ability to toggle the use of personal water physics anywhere (ie. "swimming" through the air), maybe by pressing jump+grab
  • setting a swim speed
  • modifying the player's model/spritesheet to add stuff like spearmaster's tail dots, saint’s fluff, rivulet’s gills, etc.
  • only allowing game completion after getting a certain achievement/passage
  • ability to switch player control between multiple creatures (two slugcats, for example)
  • literally anything at all because i don't really understand how to create a plugin or anything but i'll get there eventually probably maybe

any attempts to entertain my tomfoolery or at least point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated! lizgreengaming
