I tried to download sun hat mod from here https://github.com/Dual-Iron/sun-hat
but there aren't any releases I can download . is this just the code?
is there a way to install the mod through that link and not workshop?
and sorry if my question is dumb. I am just not that used to modding

That is just the code yeah. You can get a compiled version from RainDB if you click on the '[Direct]' download button for the mod: https://www.raindb.net/
(then move the contents of that zip to a new folder in \steamapps\common\Rain World\RainWorld_Data\StreamingAssets\mods
