Hello Techland team and Dying Light community,
I’m a long-time fan of the Dying Light series and have played every entry. The original Dying Light created one of the most unique survival experiences in gaming thanks to its atmosphere, parkour system, and the adrenaline of night chases.
One idea that could elevate the next game is designing a dense new city built specifically for parkour. Buildings close together, connected rooftops, and vertical routes would allow players to travel across large parts of the city without touching the ground. Movement should feel like a skill that players master over time.
The infected AI could evolve dramatically. Instead of blindly chasing the player, infected could predict movement patterns, intercept escape routes, and react to parkour behavior. This would make every chase feel dynamic and strategic.
Volatiles could become the most terrifying infected in gaming. Imagine them observing players from rooftops, appearing from ventilation shafts, flanking during chases, and ambushing players from the darkness. Encounters with them should create real fear.
Sound design could break the barrier between the player and the game. When using headphones, players could hear breathing, heartbeats during intense chases, footsteps on rooftops, and distant infected screams, making it feel like the player is the one running for survival.
Exploration should reward curiosity with hidden locations, secret weapons, and environmental storytelling similar to the discovery feeling in Dying Light: The Beast.
A system like “Dynamic Night Evolution” could make nights unpredictable. The longer players stay outside, the more aggressive and organized the infected become.
Finally, a “Dynamic Parkour Chase System” could make chases depend on movement skill, where mastering parkour becomes the key to survival.
What ideas would you like to see in the next Dying Light?
