# toxic mulch Dying Light 2 is already 60fps And Xbox series S is not a budget console Plays...

Except the series was meant to be a budget console, PS2 is a classic/retro not budget. Dying Light 2 is a last gen game so you’re capable of running it at 60 fps on last gen consoles and weaker consoles. The Beast is a current gen game, it’s graphically superior to DL2 in every way. That’s not to say DL2 looks bad because it doesn’t it looks great still but it’s not comparable to The Beast. The beast may have started as an expansion but it quickly outgrew being a DLC and turned into its own game. It’s time to upgrade consoles or get a PC if you want to enjoy these new games coming out because your current hardware is only going to hold you back more an more as time goes on

# toxic mulch Many bigger games give 60fps Techland never officially said we will never add 6...

It’s not magic that’s what happens when you work hard on something and their work speaks for itself. Could they add it in the future? Sure it’s possible and for your sake I hope they do. I’m not being mean when i say it’s a budget console I’m just being honest, that’s also what it was advertised as. We’re also nearing the point of the next gen in general so PS6 and whatever Xbox makes if they make a console again. That’s also why I’m recommending to upgrade because you’re not going to be able to enjoy new games forever on older hardware.

the Series S is a next-gen console, designed to handle big, demanding games it can run other games at 120 & 60 fps without issues, so there's really no reason for dying light to be hard capped at 30fps, it should be able to handle it, and the game could definitely be optimized for better performance, if dying light 2 can run at 60fps, there's no reason dltb can't be improved too, especially considering it's on a next-gen system

# formal temple in terms of performance, xbox has the win (slightly), a PS5 Pro might be better ...

Yeah no, PS5 pro is better than anything Xbox has to offer, and the only recently upped the price on PlayStation compared to the constant price hike Xbox does with no only hardware but also game pass and everything else they’re involved in. To be completely honest Xbox has been dying and has been on a downwards slope since after the 360. Remember the joke about console wars? Notice how that’s not talked about anymore because PlayStation won the war a long time ago. And even during the Xbox 360 days the ps3 still ended up on top even though Xbox had a much stronger start. There’s literally no reason in 2025 to still own or play on a Xbox other than nostalgia. I haven’t owned a Xbox since 360 and I’ll never own one again that’s why I switched over to PlayStation, I have a PC as well but i just don’t play it enough or care to keep upgrading the parts so I mainly use my console. The series S is a budget console wether you like it or not, dying light TB is optimized very very well, so because it doesn’t work perfectly on your console but it works amazing on everything else it’s not optimized well? Make it make sense. So yeah the series s is technically a next gen console but it’s a BUDGET next gen console. So no you can’t expect it to keep up with modern games and games coming out in the future, I can almost guarantee you when GTA 6 comes out it’s going to run like shit on the series s and there isn’t no amount of optimization going to fix that.

Summary: Xbox sucks and has for a long time.

i get you’re a PlayStation fan, and that’s fine, but let’s keep it real, the Series S is a next gen console, and while it’s not as powerful as the Series X or a high end PC, it still has a lot of potential. It can definitely handle dltb with some optimizations and just because it’s not performing perfectly right now doesn’t mean it’s incapable it’s a budget friendly console for people who want next-gen gaming without spending a ton, but it’s still a solid console.
now, about this whole 'console war' thing it’s honestly getting old if you’re still stuck on the whole 'PS5 is better than Xbox' mindset you're basically just regurgitating TikTok style arguments that have been going on forever both consoles have their strengths and weaknesses, and its not like playstation has been perfect either i’ve been gaming on Xbox for a reason, and i enjoy it but if playstation works for you, that’s cool. let’s stop pretending this is some definitive 'winner' of a war. It’s all about what fits your needs, and please don't say that xbox ''sucks'' the series x has better specs than a ps5 and its not something to debate its a fact

#

i'm not saying ps5 is shit either i have 1 and its good but the xbox definitely feels smoother

I'd much prefer 40-50 Frames per second.

idk why its even being hardcapped

#

in dl2 they gave it 60 fps after some time too

i mean like the settings regarding stuff like that

performance stuff etc

glad sundial
#

Yes, I assume FSR was enabled by the developers.

And as somebody who’s trying to get a job in optimising games, the chances of being able to get 60fps on series without huge visual sacrifices is impossible

#

PS5 and Xbox Series X run at 720-540p upscaled to 1080p in there 60fps mode which is around the resolution that most PS3 and Xbox 360 games used, and for series S it would probably need to be 480-240p
