Dont know if it was intentional or not but beast modes attack speed is drastically reduced after being forced to purchase the 1st skill in the beast skill tree in the beginning of the game. This is shown when comparing how it feels to punch the reaper and the viral in the intro of the game, to after purchasing the 1st skill (ground smash) where the punches in beast mode are much slower.
