So I noticed that in the Video.scr in the settings, the shadow options are 0=pcf, 1=pcss low, 2=pcss medium, 3=pcss high, 4=raytraced and I know initially the PCSS in DL1 most people would turn it off (myself included) I'm wondering if it's the same or similar PCSS model used for the shadows in DLTB that could be causing some of the performance issues people are having?

I've turned them to very low in-game and through editing the .scr and can't really notice a difference other than the feathering, my GPU also drops by roughly 10% when turning it all the way down and it's a more steady experience. Turning them to Very Low could be worth considering if you're having performance problems. I'm only on an rtx 3060 playing high settings with TAAU quality upscaling so I don't have a super fancy rig like most people. Just my 2 cents. 🙂

You can also turn on DLSS or FSR and set them to quality or balanced (also check Nvidia app recommended settings for you GPU). they have a really good implementaion in this game. but turn off Nvidia Reflex because it reported to cause stuttering and idk if they fixed it yet but it's still stuttering with it turned on, for me at least.
