Before and after the patch today, the air kick/smash ability can end up bugged out and not work at all until reloading your game.
In sense, it's more than likely the dropkick breaking it. But sometimes when trying to do an air kick by holding A on xbox, you will end up drop kicking, which is supposed to require you to press A twice, not once. This essentially locks you out of a whole skill.
Possible causes, I started a new save (it happened in my first save also), I have the power gambit story quest ongoing currently and I also aquired the killing streak sidequest. I looted the vanity store dark zone and the station sq apartment dark zone also. I'm not sure if any of these necessarily cause the issue but, worth noting!
Hope this gets fixed soon. My air kick turning into a drop kick just got me killed so, I thought I'd drop this here incase anyone else bumps into the issue as well
