They do that so that your momentum carries over. I’m pretty sure that this is a fail safe for players abusing a wall hugging bug or something.
Yeah well they need to get rid of this and do smth better than sweeping it under the rug with a poorly made “fail safe”
Why let anyone wall run from a drop if you’re just going to die, keeping “momentum” doesn’t even make sense as a fix either because if you were moving too fast you shouldn’t be able to connect with the wall
It’s probably because they calculate the momentum and falling distance in the code wrong in the games code. Probably.
Either way they need to fix it
dl2 was the exact same way, its so you cant completely negate fall damage, not sweeping it under the rug
they wont fix it if it shouldnt be "fixed"
Don’t understand how or why that counts as “negating” over attempting to use the game given functions to simply manoeuvre
Did we forget this guy can drop like 50 feet and just roll unscathed
its not the games function to use wallrunning to get rid of fall damage
and if you can drop from so high with the active landing, you dont need to use wallrunning for that
since you can wallrun multiple times in a row, theyre preventing glitches/people going where they're not supposed to
I attempted to use active landing, that’s my point. you should absolutely be able to use an active landing once you’re at a height to be able to do so. If they don’t want people going places they add insta death zones
they could but its too much work to change something that doesnt even need to be changed
find another way down
It’s really not much work at all. All they need to do is make it so you can use active landing at all times if you’re within the given drop from when you exit a wall run
For a team of highly experienced developers that is light work
What ppl say oh but that’s too much work to sweep smth under the rug it’s silly, it’s these ppls jobs and they love feedback especially for small gameplay mechanics that’ll improve qol

- Its not a bug, wall run carries momentum so if you start it while falling it wont stop the fall damage, the fall damage doesnt scale with fall speed but fall height and some things even if they slow you down they dont stop the fall damage
