There is a sidequest "for your mind only" where you get a clear taste of why trying to control the infected is dangerous and should probably never be attempted again. Then in the main story after you save camilo the whole plot is about lydia mind controlling zombies and kyle makes 0 objections or mentioned about what he experienced..
I get that side quests are optional and if you dont do them you wouldnt know about the danger but in the case where a player did complete this sidequest there should be additional dialogue in this main quest where kyle objects and at the very least says something like "if youre not strong enough you will end up being the one who gets controlled" or anything at all... its kinda immersion breacking that kyle acts as if hes never heard of the whole consept before
