I'm at the point where the hunter, max is dead and it won't give me a new objective or quest marker on the map, I need help because I want to get the achievement for all sidequests. Any idea whats happening?

yeah and I let him go, i know im stupid for doing that, but i went back to max and he was lying on the floor with a note next to him and the crossbow in his hands, but i wasn't able to pick it up
