Hello, I just bought dl the beast and I havent been able to play because everytime I startup and get to the loading screen, my computer randomly gets the blue screen of death and completely restarts. This never really happened before so Im honestly stuck on what I should do.

My computer should be more than capable to run the game too, as it runs dying light 2 flawlessly.

Yes, the Bluescreen message would help as it would most likely identify the problem! Record it on your phone if it disappears to quickly.

The WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR is a fatal hardware error indicating a problem with your computer's components, such as a faulty CPU, RAM, hard drive, or motherboard. It can also be caused by corrupted system files, driver conflicts, or issues with your power supply.

#

Bit of a vague error :/

#

The game requires quite a lot of power and make my gpu very warm. Do you monitor the temps? Is your psu powerful enough or possible failing?

#

did you install the latest driver and if so, you could try using DDU (https://www.guru3d.com/download/display-driver-uninstaller-download/) to remove it then reinstall the driver.

www.guru3d.com

Download Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) Official - Remove AMD/NVIDIA/INTEL Graphics Drivers Cleanly - DDU is a driver removal utility that helps you completely uninstall AMD/NVIDIA graphics card drivers and packages from your system, leaving no leftovers behind, including registry keys, folders, files, and driver store.

#

personally if i were you i would avoid using the latest driver. I use 566.36, which is a popular stable driver for the 3000 series.

I remember I had a frequent blue screen in DL2, and it was due to my graphics card. Looking back it was prolly just over heating, cause my fans were clogged, and it would crash like an hour into playing. So maybe try cleaning the fans, and checking thermal paste if you’re checking components.
One other thing could be a rare bug where your gpu isn’t being recognized, so it runs on your integrated graphics. Like if for some reason you can’t launch the nvidia app. That would be a tell.
If you just want to play this game, and your other games run fine, you could also try GeForce now to stream the game since it’s only like a 20-40 hr game allegedly

#

If it’s your motherboard there should be like a yellow light or some other indication when booting for errors and it should even notify some component errors

#

You can also download some software like HWINFO (or whatever it’s called). It can check your wattage on components and your draw, so you can compare if you have a power supply problem, or if any components are unlisted.
There are some other run commands you can do to validate some drivers and components I’m pretty sure. But idk off the top of my head. Also task manager is great to see where usage is going. You could have some apps in the background diverting resources

#

But yeah personally I always get nervous checking bios and reinstalling too many drivers. Also sometimes windows optional updates can benefit or hurt things, due to compatibility. So that maybe could’ve caused it too if you’ve ever done any of those

And also can you check graphics settings

May be your pc is using integrated graphics

#

Yeah I was thinking that, but if he can find his drivers to reinstall in the Nvidia app, it is probably using his graphics card
Although I think in your settings on windows, you can navigate to your apps. Or it’s under graphics, and you can set a preferred display setting. And set it to your GPU

#

And if you messed with your settings in game before launching, there could be something there that is causing it to crash

On this Short I show you how you can Force Windows to use your dedicated GPU instead of Integrated Graphics for your games.
