I Can't Open This Games

Can you tell me what the error is?

valid spear
#

Yesterday was not like this, today is like this.

From the ss over here it looks like the error could be in relation to the game already running, you can stop the game by clicking the STOP button, and then try relaunching if the game is taking too long to launch.

If this doesn't work, I would verify the games file integrity and see if that works. Go to your library, Right click on Dying Light The Beast, Go to properties -> Installed Files -> Verify Integrity of Game Files. Be sure to also check the game for updates as well. Let me know if any of these fix your problem.

as before

#

Tried it all.

solar geyser
#

Are you able to have it throw an error? In the screenshot it doesnt provide any error information which is weird

valid spear
#

yes

solar geyser
#

Do you have an error code that I can use to help troubleshoot?

valid spear
#

Can't update right now.

valid spear
#

It doesn't show anything when I open the game.

It might be, but I'm not sure.

I have ran into an issue similar to this one. As far as the game failing to receive the update. I have tried these two troubleshooting solutions so let me know if these works.

  1. Restart your computer (and no not a power cycle tell the pc to perform a restart)
  2. And the one that is probably the least favorite which is unistalling the game and then reinstalling the game. The only reason this normally works is because the game normally installs with the latest update.

Updating the game

#

not work

solar geyser
#

Is it still behaving the same?

valid spear
#

yes

solar geyser
#

You mentioned before that you were using an ingame custom video? Perhaps this is making your game behave differently and in turn not allowing you to launch it. I would try to return the game into its original state

valid spear
#

I also don't know how to update. I set it to update automatically.

solar geyser
#

Go to your library -> right click on your game -> Properties -> updates

valid spear
#

What next?

#

It refuses to update.

solar geyser
#

You should be able to change the update behavior, I would have it set to immediate if you haven't already.

#

you can also consult your downloads by going to library -> Downloads
Updates normally land here

valid spear
#

ok

#

I set it up and it doesn't update.

#

It's like this and nothing happens.

solar geyser
#

Okay then here is the bad news. The reason that you are receiving an empty error message should be one of these three problems:

  • Corrupted game files
    • Fix Would be reinstalling the game
  • Outdated system software
    • Fix would be checking your computer for updates
  • Interference from antivirus software
    • Fix would be finding a way to whitelist your game or temporarily turning off your antivirus.
#

I would look into the second one if you already verified the games files

valid spear
#

not work

solar geyser
#

You tried reinstallation?

valid spear
#

Try it again as usual.

#

I went to the game settings and it restarted itself, and the game won't open.

solar geyser
#

Try launching the game using the .exe file instead of the steam launcher.

  1. Go to your library and right click your game
  2. Go to manage -> Browse Local Files (this should open the folder where the game is located).
  3. Go to ph_ft -> work -> bin -> x64 (this is where the .exe file is located).
  4. Double click the .exe file named DyingLightGame_TheBeast_x64_rwdi.exe

  • Check the Windows Event Viewer. The Event Viewer can log more specific details about application errors.
    • Type "Event Viewer" in the Start Menu and open the application.
    • Go to Windows Logs > Application and look for errors that occurred around the time of the game launch.

i found it

I am not sure this is related but your date is 543 years ahead... Im not sure if this has an impact on anything but normally when your system is online and connected it would provide the correct date... perhaps the date is impacting the launch, but that's just a theory really.
