your not the only one same thing happened with me and i didnt get the achievement even though my friend did and we played since the beginning together

one of the quests required is semi-hidden.
you have to approach a crashed truck. You will hear someone over radio asking the (dead) driver to respond.

oh another thing if u join the host and u finish the game only the host gets the achievement nott you
