Is it just me or does the melee distance feel kinda scuffed

I change my fov to 77 because thats what I'm used to but for some reason it feels like the distance you can hit and be hit from is used from the closest fov, for example I'm super far back and the grabs will still hit me and the melees will hit them even though the distance doesn't look right
