#Hi, I need help with a co-op issue in Dying Light 2.

My friend bought the game from Epic Games and I bought it from Steam. After the most recent update, my game version is 1.23.0c, while his is 1.23.1c. Before this update (around 5–6 days ago), we were able to play co-op without any issues. I’m the host of the world/save, and he used to join my game via Epic just fine.

Now, when we try to connect, we get an error saying "Wrong game version" and "You cannot join this game."

We haven’t changed anything else — it just stopped working after the patch.
How can we fix this?

Thanks in advance.

When you both go to the main menu, click on play campaign and not continue. Make sure at the bottom right you both either have mods switched off or on (even if you don’t have mods this caused issues for me joining people) if this doesn’t help then the only thing I can suggest is reinstalling the games. Sorry if none of this helps

Another thing to note is if you’re on steam try verifying the game files? If you don’t know where that is right click on the dying light 2 app on steam. Go to properties, in files you should see the option to verify integrity, can take a few mins but will make sure your files are all up to date. I don’t know how to check this on epic games though sorry

I think the main problem is the version mismatch. Is this a common issue between Epic and Steam? And do you know how it can be fixed?

If your friend has the higher version then the issue does lie with your side my friend. If the verifying of game files didn’t work I can only recommend an uninstall and reinstall

You have 1.23.0, and your friend has 1.23.1. Which is a higher version than yours. So it would be on your side sorry
