Title is self explanatory. When you hold L2 to for example use the UV flashlight you’ll activate the crowd runner skill where you make a cross block with your arms and bash through enemies. Very annoying when trying to run around enemies and keep them at bay with the flashlight. The skill is only meant to work with L1.

I think it's most likely a bug
It happens to me as well but once you change the button layout preset to firearms this is no longer an issue
So they messed up the default layout somehow
