I died trying to claim that camp a few days ago and after returning today, the camp is completely empty and there's no bandit leader for me to kill. I tried sleeping a few nights, going there at night and during the day, restarting my game, and still nothing.

Yup. When I enter the camp, there's no bandits at all, and it tells me to kill the bandit leader. I can't interact with the flag at the end either.
New install and new save I started like 3 days ago so there's no save/update bugs or w.e either
