#Surround sound help?

Hi, I just picked up DL2 in the winter sale. I have a 7.1 setup for my PC. When playing DL2, it seems like everything is mixed down to the center speaker. I looked into the audio options and I only have three: "Default," "TV," and "Headphones," with no discernible difference when selecting each. The text in the settings screen seems to indicate there are other options, which also bears out from what I'm reading when searching about DL2 audio issues (apparently a high and low frequency option, among others?).

I've tried changing outputs both in Windows and in the game settings to see if that impacts the options, but it has no effect. I also looked in the config file for audio but I can't seem to find anything that reflects this option.

Can anyone confirm what the audio options are for DL2 for PC? Or if you have a surround sound setup, how you're getting it to work with DL2? Many thanks.

I'll look into it. It's just strange because it's the only game I've played in recent memory that seems to downmix to the stereo channels, very odd development choice. I

if you have the steelseries gg software

Do you also only see those three options of default, TV and headphones?

Okay, so that helps. I was wondering if it wasn't detecting my system properly and thus didn't make those options available.

#

Has that always been the case? I keep reading threads (dealing with other audio problems) talking about some other audio output options, but I was thinking maybe that was tied to console versions...

Okay, thanks for the replies. Seems like a weird oversight on the devs part, I honestly can't think of a major release in the last few years that has so little adjustment or option on the sound front, especially considering it is a zombie game where spatial sound would be important.

it might not be as good as native, but it's really good
