Steam Achievements not working after resetting them

I decided to reset my achievements on Dying Light 2 as I wanted to replay the game and earn them all again. I reset them on Steam using the Steam console and the command "reset_all_stats 534380". The command worked however I now can't unlock achievements in-game. No matter what I do the achievements won't unlock. I've tried starting a new save, re-installing the game, nothing works.

I decided to contact Techland customer support, they told me to re-install Steam. Hesitantly I tried doing that however I still can't earn achievements. I'm posting here as a last ditch effort to attempt to resolve the issue.

your best bet is maybe to use a steam achievment manager tool that might help you

if that would not help resetting the whole instance of the game could help

But that would only allow me to manually give myself achievements right?

the manager is able to reset, lock unlock, and give achievments to you

obv if you want to regrind the game just dont use the give function of it

That's the thing. I've already reset all achievements on Steam. I'm just not able to earn them in game as the game won't unlock them automatically

some games track achievments, and create a var which kind of checks if you have the achievment, and if they are not implemented "properly" it will not check it properly

for example
if player.killedzombies{give achievment}

but if there is no function to check whether the player have those achievments locked than it was useless to reset them

try to download a version older instance of the game and see if the game gives achievments

obv clean out your save folder

I am just speculating tho as techland is the one who made the game

So you're saying the game still thinks I have all the achievements because the game keeps track of achievement progress separate to Steam?

btw if you just reinstall the game

for example

you just delete the game with steam

it will download the same files

Also in this case downloading an older version won't work as I'm playing through the game with a couple friends

Well I've already tried completely deleting and re-installing Steam which I'd imagine would give the same affect as doing this. Correct?

I don't think I understand the difference between deleting and re-installing the game vs removing all files and doing an intregreity check. Wouldn't they both do the same thing? Both would result in the entire game being re-downloaded

I noticed

that if steam "removes" the game for you

for example

if you have mods installed it will somehow download the mods for you

I don't know how it did it for me

my game was broken as hell

I wanted to reinstall and it downloaded the whole thing down again

so I thought to myself, if I do an integrity check with an empty folder, it will just download the game itself

If what you say were true then wouldn't I also keep my local saves? Cause when I first deleted the re-installed the game I first disabled cloud saves and I lost all my saves when I re-instaleld the game

they moved from using the documents folder to the steam folder

that might just deleted your save folder entirely

cause no cloud save

Well I've got an update! I got it to work. I did two things and idk which one fixed it lol. I manually deleted the game and then verified the integrity of the files. Then while it was downloading I went into "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\315061690\534380" and deleted the folder "534380" which contains all my saves + some other profile data. After that I started getting achievements again

But this was not without sacrifice

I only found bounties

prolly the sbk or sav files contain the achievment variables

Well I've deleted that folder before but it didn't work in the past. My guess is it just redownloaded it from the cloud save

Here's the problem though. While I did backup my save, when I added it back to the game only one of the saves is actually appearing. And its an old save I don't care about anymore

you need both the sbk and sav file

Also the save that got saved was an endgame save meaning when I loaded it I got all my damn achievements back XD. So I have to do the whole process again lol

did you remove the file extension?

like the backup saves are .bak

try to remove the .bak at the end

if it does not help I can help with that otherwise

so if you had no save the backups got overwritten with literally nothing
