I discovered issue playing DL2 (steam PC)
This is bug/glitch/exploit IMO.
Not many casual players will notice this but people like me that dig into game details of game mechanics may see this issue.
Character movement speed change after performing melee weapon attack while pressing forward key (analogue forward+RT) while in standing stance.
This combination makes character weirdly and just briefly go fast forward move/step with mele attack animation.
Issue is that while this weird dash/step (K+M but also same on gamepad) with melee weapon swing (fists/empty hand does not activate this weird fast step) like starting stick gained in prologue, this makes character rapid movement/direction change faster.
This fast step is not activating while in addition strafe left/right is pressed.
Also while crouched and using forward move+mele weapon attack it is not activating and as mentioned already unarmed/fist attack.
And the result is that after activation of this fast step forward in addition to forward melee attack, the player character have disabled move delay/inertia for changing direction while standing up and while crouching.
But in crouch mode there is significant difference in movement speed/rapid move direction change that is way easier to distinguish that there was any change.
After long testing etc. I discovered that while some type of activity is performed (animations) the default state of character movement mechanics goes back to default values.
So few examples I tested of the things that make game to go back to default character movement values.
Those are: slope climb/descent/move animation, biter grab, lantern/drain pipe climb animation, rope grab, fall duck/fall roll animation.
Techland please adress this issue. I bet this is easy fix.
I tried to dig in the files in data0 representing player character movement values etc. but did not find any sollution to this issue that would disable this weird fast dash forward and/or disable the results.
