Here is the SOLUTION to survivor mission not ending

I should have probably written it here right after I figured it out rather than writing it in the DL2 chat a few time.

This worked for me every time, if for some reason it doesn’t for you. Let me know. The glitch is caused by random people trying to join you while inside the mission.

Solution: If the mission glitches out and you can be sure it will mostly glitch out if you see the player icon in the top left corner. (pops up every time someone tries to join you) All you need to do is join someone else’s game and leave. (I don’t know what happens, if you get kicked as every time this happened I joined someone and left immediately.) Doing this will take you out of the mission and won’t take away your bounty progress.

Possible workaround: I haven’t had a chance to test this theory, but considering what is causing this glitch, playing offline might avoid this. Also playing in private or friends only won’t solve this. I am playing on private and randoms still try to join my game.

And if someone from the Ateam reads this. Please post this into the “dying light 2 news” to prevent as many people as possible from loosing progress.

Testing that theory right now using Steam Offline mode.

To be fair I've never seen anyone trying to join me during the survivor mission.

Confirmed Steam offline mode worked like a charm. I suppose that mean a full 4-person coop session would also work, disconnecting from internet, anything that would stop someone from joining your game would theoretically work. I didn't try enough times to remember checking if I was playing offline in game or not prior to this but as you said it didn't work so...there we go.

Singleplayer option on PS5 works also. Even fixed the glitch where if you die you have to race back to area 👍
