When I try to join, it says, "Your game appears to be using modified data. You can't join the game session as its and your game data don't match." But that doesn't make sense because I literally sent him the mods from my pc through discord. Any help is greatly appreciated because I'm kinda desperate lol

You can't join any on-line co-op games even if you both have the same mods or even if you both have any single mods
You need to remove all of your mods and tell him to remove his one too only then you both will be able to play
