#EULA Update

Hey @opal garden, sorry for the ping, but it seems like this won't be answered unless I bounce it back up. Is there an ETA on this? Thanks!
It was already adressed multiple times
It was talked about in modding communities and servers as well, and we confrimed the intentions of making it worded like it is generally accepted in gaming industry.
Hey Pirek, I apologize I guess what I'm asking is when is this action taking place where the EULA is updated to include what was stated
I saw the posts in both the modding server and here, but that still doesn't address the actual legal document that players are signing. Based on what was posted, I think it was expected that changes were being made to the Policy itself to help add the clarifications mentioned in the posts. However I haven't seen any updates to the EULA so I just wanted to follow up with the team and see if that was coming
Most of modding community upon the conversation understand why the documents are written in the way they are, and doesn't have problem with it, EULA was adjusted, we will in future planning to adjust Mod Policy
but since we got general understandment and claification on reason to have it written in legal way, we didn't rush to do the changes.
It won't change at the core, considering all we already explained, but some parts may be rephrased to be more clear for those not familiar with legal jargon.
If I may show you what a good modding policy looks like
I guess I got somewhat of the answer 🙂 thanks Pirek, I wish you guys the best of luck on that end with your future titles. Transparency is key in this ever changing tech world of ours.
"we will in future planning to adjust Mod Policy" the original question was when will this happen, as it's important for my work to continue
cdpr also claim rights to your mods, just as any other studio, and reasons for that were also explained.
We are as transparent as ther guy - those entries in EULA have to be done as security measure, but we have no intent or reason to harm any of our creator. If you decided that we want to hurt our creators, and wrote it to do so, then I think no matter how many examples of legal documents i will send you will not belive me.
As always I really do appreciate the time you take to talk with me Pirek, and thank you for sharing the above, as it also includes something that I was originally just trying to highlight in the EULA, which is that while the legal wording is similar, the intent and the support of the modder does exist in their legal language. I just felt that it was something to bring to light with the Techland Modders policy, as it does not add any assurances for those of us who are creating content to support your studio.
Well, we assure our community by directly talking with you guys that's our approach 🙂
I greatly respect and appreciate Techland, I've spoken personally with Tymon and applied for multiple jobs with your studio
It was something that caught me off guard due to the language used and how it was written, and as someone who has been modding your games since 2015, I wanted to bring this important topic up
You keep saying "us", yet I have talked with other creators, and people dont have problem after they were explained why it's written like this
The modding community for games tends to be a fairly younger crowd, as an older modder, I'm not sure they always read the fine print. Just making sure that the language and intent is clear
i think our goals of implementing mods to the game, already aded map support on consoles, contests and all the approach is already speaking about how much we support our creative side of community, much better than adding another document that not many will read anyways
which shows, if those already written documents surpriseed our users this much
Correct haha, which is why I wanted to highlight and discuss it with your team
