Hey guys!
First, if this topic does not belong here, I will delete it, no issues!
So! I played DL1 for years, and felt in love with this game. I played DL2 for a few on release, but I can't say I have a lot of experience in this one, yet.
I love the feeling of freedom both games give, and I love to be able to pick any sort of weapons, playstyles, etc.
While I love the fact that armor pieces in DL2 are not only cosmetic, it kinda bother me that it forces me into one specific playstyle and weapon type. As I said, I love to play with everything.
My question is: Is there a set of armor that would allow me to have a polyvalent playstyle while still being optimized? I guess I could mix class sets, but i also guess it would make me bad at nothing but good at nothing either.
I'm also open to mod suggestions, but here is another question: if I use mods, does it mean I can't do online plays with someone who doesn't have the exact same mods?

Hi! Unfortunately I think the best you could do is mix sets as you mentioned, I personally usually only focus on either damage resistance or xp gain, because with legend levels you'll be increasing your damage slowly anyway

As for mods I'm on console so I can't help too much here but from what I know playing with mods limits you to a single player experience, however I could be wrong here as I have heard of modded weapons being in circulation

Hello and thank you for your answers!
So far I'm keeping one armor piece of each type, will see how it goes!
I didnt think about legendary, I hope it's not as broken as it was on DL1 haha!

Yup, it would make sense for mods and coop. The few mods I saw werent that fancy anyways!

If you want to do real dmg one piece of each on you will do NOTHING! Get a full set of Brawler (for 1H weapons) or Tank (for 2H weapons) for close combat melee both or full set of Ranger (for bows, crossbows or shotgun) for a medium "sniper" build approach or a Medic set (for parkour combat dmg and health regen) Don't wear 1 piece of each or 2 pieces of each gear cause you will do nothing! Have patience to farm for various sets of armor gear and you will get them pretty quick if you know what you want for each combat approach! Good luck mate 🤝

Hello and thanks for your answer!
Yea, this is kinda what I fear! I do keep one of piece of each sets for each armor slots, but I quite dont feel to switch them all the time!
The situation I'm talking about would be like "Engaging with some ranged then going in with some parkour combat then AOE them with some 2H and finish the big dude with some 1H". Just an exemple, ofc! But that's what I think is "polyvalent" combat, and what I'm looking for.
Would legendary levels allow me to reach a sort of sweetspot for my playstyle? (Not too OP, but not garbage either). What I remember from DL1 is that they made crossbow the most overly strong thing with legendary levels haha!

Yeah legendary levels will give you a strong boost for each category! For all melee weapons you receive 75% more dmg boost and that's alot if you upgrade those 4 categories for 1H and 2H at max lvl! Plus you have a special category for Knuckledusters too! And explosives get a 50% dmg boost too at max lvl! You have special categories for Bows and Crossbows too! It's insane man what you can do once you get legendary! Be patient and keep going 💪
