what happened to all my crap?

I hop onto dying light two one of my favorite games and  It said, downloadable content, not on storage device went to re-download everything it told me to that I could  find couldn’t find it all went into the game anyways it was all fine left to go play dying light came back because I got bored of dying light, and I hopped back onto dying light two  went to my game. None of my stuff was there. I left got the same message download everything it wanted because I was able to  find it all this time. But all my crap was still gonna it let me redeem all my stuff again, but my other stuff like weapons, valuables armor was all gone, so my final words are what happened to all my crap Techland cause I swear to god if I spent $80 and now I have to restart the game which I will not be doing

You most likely have a corrupted save game and/or actual game directory

what platform are you on?

Cause you're not narrowing down much

And even then, restarting on a new save file isn't a big issue. You're not really losing anything unless you have some sort of sentimental value held up onto the currently unresponsive save

Try making a new save. AND Skip the prologue so you don't have to go through a hassle to acquire your stash and to see if you actually unlocked the DLC Items or not

If you see them in your stash ; congrats, your previous save file is corrupted

I was able to get on my downloadable content, but reason why I wanted to know is because I lost everything valuables, weapons and armor everything

If not ; there's a chance that there's a verification error with Techland / the game for checking if you actually own the DLCs or not. If the issue persists, even after the new save (or maybe even reinstalling the game as a last case scenario), contact Techland support on their support website rather than here, as most of the time they don't respond here

Corrupted save file

It's very common with bigger updates

Oh😢 I guess I’m not playing. I want to anymore as I’m not going through all that again.

Ones that change atleast SOMETHING that can be noticeable to the eye can corrupt a save. ESPECIALLY an update where they've basically added a checker for if you have licenses for the dlcs on your save file or not

You could probably restart the save and then finish the story again within like 2-10 hours

It's not that long. Besides, I'd say reexperiencing everything from scratch might be more enjoyable considering how many Quality of Life improvements they've added

I’ve already played the game when it first came out so I finished the game pretty fast

another option is rolling back the save to see if it's still broken. If the save file is broken even AFTER rolling it back, then yeah, It's fully corrupted

So wait, you’re saying there might be home by rolling it back

And the game's gotten pretty damn better over the past year and 1/2. Some things were lackluster or horrid, but overall the game got so many QoL improvements that I don't think there's a reason not to give it a try at replaying it

There's a chance that a rollback could reset your progress to before everything corrupted, unless your entire save file corrupted

obviously you'll be put into an earlier state than from where you last played it, but atleast you can try and salvage SOMETHING out of it

This is a known problem, I also get it constantly

To fix it in the future you need to reload the game or switch user profile and wait, it should then correct itself
Just don't open your save file with the not found message or you'll have to redeem it all again (annoying ik, I gotta relevel all my weapon blueprints)
