Save file lost

I originally finished my first playthrough of the game. Then I started a small second playtrough/save file. After that I started a new game plus with my first playthrough and played a lot on new game plus.

After installing the newest update the only save file left is the one from my second playtrough that I barely played. My OG save file and the new game plus one are completely lost.

Any idea why this happened and how to fix/restore the save file?

Unless you're on PC and have your save files archived on Steam Cloud, if your save file suddenly deletes itself and you don't have a backup, it's lost forever
