#Cannot Co-Op With Friends

As the title says, 3 of us playing Dying Light 2 are not able to Co-Op with each other. we are all in South Africa, and this did work 2 weeks ago or so, now it does not work any longer.

We keep getting various messages like: " The game you are trying to join is no longer available."

We have tried everything we could find online, from DNS server changes, Time Zone settings, starting in offline mode, clearing all the saved games, clearing the DNS cache, disabling all the firewalls, repairing and re-installing.

We are about to almost give up.

The Strange part is we can join another player from quick match, we cannot join the same player though.

The log file shows:

The same issue occurs when joining in game, or from Steam, logging into Epic and also not enabling the Epic cross play, in our case we are all in the same country being South Africa, and we are all on steam.

it has been a bit frustrating to say the least.
Also other games work fine, even older games using p2p technologies.

2 of us have mailed Techland, with no response, I have also remarked the issue on Twitter, no response.

Please can we get some help?

Hi, please can you check which game version do you have and what platform you use? And if you could tell me your friends platform and version as well!

Hello, can anyone help? Today I logged into the game to play with my friends and I say join my friends, but it doesn't let me join my friends, there is a problem in the game, the error I get is multiplayer mode error.

Try fully re-login from your Steam and Epic, and login again.

Try installing EGS then - steam use EOS system either - it can glitch sometimes. Having both launchers even owning the game in Steam - helped me in such a case

I closed and reopened my Steam account and am facing this error even though I have verified the integrity of the game

The error I get is the multiplayer mode error When I want to join other players I get can't join Dying Light 2 My Game Version 1.10.3p My platform is Steam I'm having this problem today I was able to play with friends yesterday My internet connection is good. I did turn off and on my internet but it didn't fix sir I disconnected from Steam but still no improvementIf I want to delete the game and download it again, will it work?

Also another update, we tested using a VPN connection to Frankfort, not changing anything else and it works, we are in a co op game atm, the VPN is not permanent though

So in my opinion, something is going on whit the connections or services somewhere, this did work fine like 3 weeks ago or so.

Adding to this, we are not using Epic actively, we are all in Steam, and it works with a VPN

Thank you very much for this! I hope we can get it sorted, I also logged an e-mail\ticket with the same info and a video but we decided to try an openVPN service and that tested fine, can join anyone and everyone can join me.

Unfortunately we had to use a paid one to work, in our case provided by amazon, just to test it out

I am the friend of BracksZA and confirm this is very frustrating. I hope it gets fixed soon. We shouldn't have to VPN just to play something in this day and age.

Agreed, they did send me a mail as well from my ticket but they asked stuff I already answered as I sent a very detailed mail to help them help us but seems like its moot... take advantage of the free Division weekend for now.. pretty fun co-op, hopefully this can get sorted out soon

I want to ask for an information from you, that will let us pinpoint one of assumptions of culprit here.

Please drop me a message with informations: What platform you play on, which game, from where you play from (in the world), and if possible - what platform is friend you try to connect to use.
Additionally, do you try to connect via friends list on platform (like Steam friends list) or using in-game list? Or do you use join random option?

Hi Pirek, as asked, platform is Steam, Dying Light 2, Region: South Afica, 3 of us have the same region, same game, same platform, we have tried connecting with Steam Friends, In Game and even try finding eachh others games manually via the in game browser. Random Join might sometimes join on someone else, but mostly it will search indefinitely.

Looks like it was an issue with something external, and it is supposted to be fixed since yesterday, so I want to confirm it is all good now 🙂

This is why we couldn't fix this issue for this long - simply because it wasn't on our side, or somethign we can affect

We just played for almost 3 hours with only 1 disconnect and we only had to quit to menu then start and worked fine for 2 hours

So far looking good and this is without a VPN
