ill play about 20mins and go from 180fps down to like 20fps and need to fully restart the game.

Ram usage will max out to 32gb because of the game and Blue screen my pc / or force me to restart OR closing the game frees up the RAM used.

When i alt tab FPS goes way back way to 144+ when i go back into game fps crashes to where we left off like 20 fps for example..

YES RT IS DISABLED, Running game on D11. - 1440p high settings

Everything windows updated today and Nvidia latest drivers installed from their app/ reinstalled fresh.

ithink i have before but ill give it a shot - usually Dx12 is for RT or whatever no ?

DX12 is needed for RT, but it can still be used without RT

#

I used to have this game have somewhat similar issues, but not as extreme

#

never had it crash or blue screen

#

but did have fps drop dramatically over time

#

and would have to restart the game to get it to go back to decent fps

yea there is like a 5% chance blue me

usually what you say is the case here

i reinstalled my nvidia driver and played for like 4 hours no problem

closed the game to let my pc cool off - got back into game -> issue again

thinking nvidia vs DL2 is the problem - but how that corlates to RAM no idea

some people say its alienware stuff - disabled command center - still problem

Most people have NVIDIA GPU's though, not sure most people have the issue though

Not sure if I do anymore either, I haven't played the game a lot recently, but I noticed it a few months ago, and haven't noticed it when I played recently

But I have an NVIDIA GPU, but not anything alienware-related

the lack of crashes for me might also just be because I have more RAM

it just keeps increasing ram usage until it lags out too much

and when i purge it ignores it but at the same time keeps increasing

when i tab out of the game still increases but my fps shoots up to normal

For my GPU reaches about 65 C at warmest, highest I've seen CPU hit in the game is 78 C

Cooling in the case tends to matter a lot more than ambient

#

I would just wonder if it's spiking to above 99 C and causing the blue screens

#

since 99 is usually considered the max "safe" temperature

and it's designed to throttle performance to not exceed 99

i have the alienware R12 case with IAO and i added a pull push fan config to the cpu and 2 fans intake infront ( corsair fans ) static

11700KF's plenty powerful still, but I'd expect a 8-core/16 thread cpu

If you're running at 180 fps 1440P, that's more work for the cpu than 120 fps 4k

Not sure if my cpu really reaches the speeds it's advertised to

but in theory my cpu's designed to run all 8 p-cores at 5.2 GHz

It can do 5.6 on 2 cores

but not all 8

the other 16 cores are e-cores, they cap at 4.0 GHz

I think there's a setting in the game's options, but if not you can always do it with nvidia control panel

You're not at the very start of the game are you?

When I noticed it happening was when I started a new playthrough, was mostly in the intro sequences before you reach the open world areas, etc.

Alienware Command Center likely the culprit

#

killed task and disabled it ( DL2 worked at 14gb ram steady for hours )

with a reinstall of windows too

#

if its active and i launch DL2 the RGB goes nuts /or solid color and dl2 ram issue
