New update overall is awesome but it brought something that was not happening before. I have RTX 3090 and Ryzen 5900x and 32GB of ram, when i log to game the performance is buttery smooth and j have 95-100 fps with RT GI+AO on and LOD enhance on 200 but after longer time ( approx after 1 hour of playing) strange things are happening, there are artifacts showing up with lights flickering on distant objects, the massive performance drops especially near VNC Tower and highly populated locations ( not to mention that overall fps drop to 60 so its 30 fps difference lmao), when entering air conditioning tunnels also there is strange shimmering textures around. Its basically impossible to have immersive fun during longer session. I have latest gpu driver (the one for dead Island 2) and even in a Cyberpunk with path tracing i can play for long hours without any performance drops. Please look in to this topic.

im wondering if this is related to my issue with huge fps drops when looking in certain directions. gpu usage can go from 60 percent at DLSS performance to 80 percent in DLSS quality, yet the fps remains exactly the same (50fps) and the cpu usage remains exactly the same. even disabling raytracing didnt make a difference!

actually i just confirmed it. im experiencing the exact same issue you are. i had been playing for over an hour and just exited the game, reloaded it and went to the same area and its smooth 60fps. same exact time of day because its during one of the first missions with hakon

Try lowering the lod max modifier. Last time I played there was no lod lax modifier and when I came back my custom settings already had it set to 300 the max setting. This would also explain why it gets worse over time. If you set the options to the highest preset it puts max lod modifier to 75
