Game keeps crashing

I launch the game and everything is working fine until i click continue or try to load new game plus, it shows the loading screen then freezes and crashes.

In my case one of the graphical settings that uses RTX was causing it.

Not sure, I disabled all of them at once to see if it helps and never bothered to check one by one. The other thing that was causing same behavior before was when I removed mods and the save file wouldn't work without them so it would crash when loading.

What happens if you start a new save/new game. Does it crash then too?

just tested

yeah it works when i start a new game

but not when i try to use my original save file

i originally played with my friends copy of the game. He steam shared it with me. I just bought it because it was on sale

you can check if a backup save file will work, it's located in "C:\Users\xxxxx\Documents\dying light 2\out\save_backups" you will have to move it to main save folder and rename it by removing " _scanned " and " .bak" from it. Before you do that just move the original save file somewhere else.
