After using some mods I wanted to play with my friend. I sent him all of my data.pak files and game said we can't play together because of mods difference. We deleted all the mods and game tells me it uses modified data and I still wasn't able to join my friend's lobby. I tried deleting all the data. pk files and verifying the game files on steam, didn't work

it's happening to me also, the difference is that my brother and i never installed a single mod and after the update i can't join to his game and continue the main story as we were doing, and we don't want to lose all the progress we did but there is no solution anywhere...

you're gonna need to uninstall the game and then delete any files that are left in the install location, then reinstall the game. Uninstalling will remove all correct files, only leaving anything extra that's been left in the files from mods/etc., which you then delete, and should allow for a fresh, clean reinstall. Not sure what to do to help you if you've never installed any mods though, besides trying to install the game to a different location after the uninstall.
