tldr; ill play for about an hour beginning at 160fps and end up having to restart the game when it just goes to 40 fps after about an hour.
FPS drops overtime no matter what.
known issue for over a year which was supposed to be fixed in one of techlands updates but its happening to me on STEAM

I got a few questions:
Have you followed how the Ram usage is actually going from beginning to the end?
Are you using other programs that might be gobbling up the resources or you checked that the resources are all going to DL2?
Are you on windows 10?
Did you already set your DL2 launch command on Steam to "/verbose" and sent the log to support?
You mentioned that you have no mods already. Did you ever have mods and if you modified any of the files, did you try to uninstall + delete all remaining files in the game's steam folder manually, and reinstall?

The best way to get quicker answer from support is to mention the things you already know that will be asked.
First question that you don't need to wait to answer is if you ever used any mods (as they cause a lot of issues, since they are not supported etc) This page is a good guide for that

It is something that needs to be investigated delicately. So, saying there is a memory leak does not help in any way, unfortunately.

ok, just please remember that for verbose to be useful, you'd need to start the game, play until you have the issue, so till it goes down from 160fps to 40fps.
Also if you'd have a gpu-z log attached, that would likely help a lot.
I undertsnd that you may be frustrated with the result that you paid for the game and you can't play it as you like, but we'll try to get it fixed, if you could help us find what the problem is

and ram usage is 6.3gb
so starting up with 16-20 gb is already very strange

for me it only increased the FPS
I usually play with upscaler DLSS and sometimes FSR 2
I just disabled it to get a worse RAM usage, but it didn't make a difference
I am lost as to why you'd start with 16gb

Not sure if memory leak (I need to monitor myself) but since the update, I have noticed FPS slowly dropping over time as well, even though cpu and gpu temps are normal. Had the same issue at launch but was fixed at some point. I'm on win 10 2H22, will do proper monitoring and report back later tonight (I'm east coast NA).

Played for a few hours last night and can't say for sure FPS dropped over time. Maybe the ~250MB patch a few days ago fixed the issue for my PC. RAM usage started at ~6.4GB but never went over ~7.7GB.

Unless it is a very common critical issue, it can't be hot-fixed. So unfortunately it should wait for the next patch to be released.
Because it needs to be tested to see if the change causes other problems.
Many issues reported here are already fixed, but they are bundled with the next patch or the next patch or the next one etc.

Memory leak fix (rtx on)

Switch textures from High to Medium
ESC save.
And then go back and switch back to HIGH
Problem solved.
Before : 30 min and fps goes from 70-90 to 30. After texture switch i can play as much as i want without issues and fps drops with everything on . And no need to restart the game.

I mean this games been out ahwile. On console this game is basically unplayable . Audio tears and cuts out the wazoo. Frame rate and lag issues. Constant crashing and freezing and having to restart the game multiple times . Co op is awful with lag and just being dropped. I mean yall should have fixed the serious game breaking bugs before dropping any dlc. Cuz if you can't fix no use on trying to polish a turd that somehow made it through inspection
