I don't remember entirely but if it did have three from the start then it's probably just because it is a special weapon. Any weapon you find from looting and from shops will have five slots.

There is, yes. It's quite rare to find when looting. Used to be rare in general but there are plenty of ways these days to get your hands on gold weapons.
Bozak dockets, Prison Heist and btz are the three best and most common ways to get gold tier weapons.

A docket is an item that you can redeem for weapons, outfits or blueprints. You have to link your game account to the dockets website (dockets.dyinglightgame.com) and then you can redeem docket codes.
Once you get a docket redeemed, you can then retrieve whatever item you got from the docket ingame by going to a quartermaster

Guns are your best friend, don't try using melee weapons.

You don't have to kill everything, you can run through most areas. You only need to kill the armed men inside the prison jail room, and the final arena.
Cloak potions let you lockpick the doors without being interrupted by the zombies, flares work on keeping the evolved volatiles away.

also got everything expect the thoundsands of outfits u can collect
all missions, sidemissions, quarantenes, have all items at least 50-100x
