hello dying light people. I have a couple questions.
This game caught my eye a while back, but I just didn't have the money. Now it seems I can get the full package on Steam pretty cheap, but I don't know much about it. Is it mainly multiplayer, or single player? I know there's some MP stuff, bt that's about it. I'm worried that with DL2 coming out, I'd be buying a dead game.
Any info would be appreciated. Is it still worth getting into from the beginning? Would I be missing out on a lot if the MP is dead?

@lucid fox I think you should still buy Dying Light, considering Dying Light 2 is not coming in a long time. So if you buy Dying Light now,you might be able to save money for Christmas and buy Dying Light 2. Also Dying Light is made for it's Single Player Mechanics, but multiplayer,co-op,or LAN however you wanna say it is still a huge mechanic of the game.

@lucid fox You have content which you can play both in single player (aside some few quests, which are single player only) and coop. Which are quests, open world, quarantine zones (similar to dungeons in RPGs). Only thing which is coop exclusive are coop challenges that can happen if you play with more people. And coop is for 4 players, which means that you can team-up with up to 3 other players. Only PVP thing here is invasion concept, which means that one player (fifth one if you have already 4 people, as there are 4 slots for human survivors and 1 for zombie player), who plays as a Night hunter, during his "Be the zombie" game mode can invade your game if you enable it and then the game turns into some sort of minigame.
And if you would like some good open world open world zombie game with parkour, which I like there very much, with a multiplayer as a bonus, then I recommend you to get this game.

Only warning: DonĀ“t await a good non linear story on the level of The Witcher, if itĀ“s too much important for you. Story there is linear and while I liked side quests, which showed you various survivors and it got sometimes very depressive, but both side quests and main quest are linear (no choices there) and main quest isnĀ“t known to be very good.

There is matchmaking system, but you wonĀ“t allways get lucky on finding games. There are some invisible filters, for example you canĀ“t see any game, which has more % of story progress than you. Also it depends if you have VAC on or off (you can see games with same VAC settings as you). Also there are lazy players, who keep their games open to public, only to kicking you out when you connect. But if you get lucky, it may get fun.

@lucid fox In Dying Light Multiplayer the only "fighting other players" in this game is in - game competitions, like racing or seeing who can kill the most zombies in quests, but there is also a Dying Light: Bad Blood which is basically Dying Light Battle Royale. So multiplayer is mostly working together.

@lucid fox Dying Light is a great game dude imo one of the most underrated games of this gen. But you're like 3 years too late man because it was lit af when it was still newer. Now it's fun if you're on your first play through on nightmare or if you have friends to do invasion games with. Other than that there's not much to do that's "fun" anymore. It's cheap though on steam atm I'd say pick it up if a game that is a hybrid between Far Cry, Just Cause and Call of Duty Zombies gameplay sounds interesting to you.

On trial 19 you can just ignore the bolters if you really want to. They are just there to give you rewards, you won't die if you fail to kill them all.
A lot of people use this trial to prepare for the final trial by stacking a bunch of canisters where the Demolisher will spawn.

Dying Light 2 hasn't come out yet, it's coming out in Spring 2020 (unless it gets delayed) and can't be pre-ordered yet. So you should probably get Dying Light 1, unless you're willing to wait for months for the second one to come out.

I recommend you to get DL1 if you like good zombie open world game with parkour and coop and invasion multiplayer as bonus. Because it will take time before the second game gets released, so why now donĀ“t have a fun with first game and then appreciate the stuff which devs did better in second one?

Nog you have to leave the Prison Island, and then you'll be able to change quests.
Don't change it to Bozak though you'll have the same issue.
