you feel like you're doing the same thing, but that's exactly the problem-- you don't notice that you're NOT doing the same thing.
Playing when angry changes your approach wildly, although it can feel exactly the same.
Same goes for any sort of emotional state- it all affects the way you approach things.
Furthermore, having a slow day reduces your reaction speed, and not looking in the right places reduces the amount of time you get to think of a counterattack.
Like any game that's about speed, looking ahead is usually the best strategy.
Learning to predict what is about to happen considerably increases your chances to prevent it.
Once you see what is about to happen all you need to do is die to it one more time, and spend your respawn timer thinking about how you could outsmart that play.

Right. Well, 1v1 and team games are quite different from eachother in a good few ways.
In 1v1, your safety net is practically nonexistent both as hunter and human
either has the ability to finish the other off in mere moments as soon as either slips up
2v1 might feel like depending on your team, but that's because-- well, you need to to practice effectively.
You need that safety net to mess up, get helped, and get right back into the fray to test your next move
Doing it all alone will just take longer.
You won't need to focus so much on team combo's, as much as your team would love if you could.
First get the basics down. holding your ground when the hunter has you pinned for a while as your team catches up
Understand how he's trying to throw you off, and know how to give yourself a little edge, by positioning yourself to a place the hunter can fall down if he misses a tackle, keeping distance so you can track him, staying up top on your health, staying in flat open areas.
You have all these ways to increase your chances.
Now learn to use them.
You'll never be 100% sure to live.
But you can crank up those odds.

Hitting that DFA isn't your eventual goal. At least, if you wanna win, it shouldn't be.

Hunter doesn't even need to be dead if he's not bugging you hard enough
He runs? Get to that nest, he'll come to You. Right where you want him.
Once you get pinned that's where killing the hunter is more useful.
Or at the very least force him to flee and recuperate.

And i've been told several times, beginning of the match or whenever, my main objective is get to that nest ASAP even if im being attacked, just head for it. Hunter wins off having more play time. Human wins by being fast.

one common mistake is to waste that time trying to snipe him. On console, maybe autoaim makes that very doable, i wouldn't know, but on PC that's a big waste of time if you're not practiced enough, and you're better off using the downtime to make your way closer to the objective.

Also you can cancel the bow being drawn with the V key, the △ button on the PS4, or the Y button on XB1.
I am also falling in love with the deadeye's bow and crossbow. Very good.

the draw speed for the deadeye's bow and the reload speed for the crossbow is good. literally in pvp any bow or crossbow will do the same damage.
Also running in a straight line is very effective because the survivor will definitely not see this coming and punish.
