Even if you play solo it can help with 1v1. Buying time by backlashing after a tackle evade or if you can get a few off in opposing directions buys 10 seconds or so on its own. You can stay on ground nests as well if you run them lol

Well you have to understand that dl is a 3 year old game the game already had a small population since late 2016 at this point there are no decent players to fight thus vanilla dl gets even more boring day by day back in the day you had really skillful players that you could try to beat like lukask vallon etc. Nowadays the only pro survivors i see are occasionally omni and fear why should i still play btz if i can win all the games with 0 fucking challenge. The game has turned so unskillfull the hunter only has to use toxins and abuse the animations
Also i get hunters every half an hour and they are mostly biters or fake apex

I rarely play as Hunter anymore. It's like you said earlier. You wait for 30 minutes and just get fake apex's and biters. It goes the same when anyone is the Hunter. You get insanely good players or just people that somewhat know what to do.

Shields are only gold for animations stop, unless their elemental then they are somewhat ok for dealing with hordes

Blocks spits. Reduces fall damage. Blocks the goon attacks. Freezes virals with elementals. Cancels dropkick, heavy, and other attacks. Blocks spit while you climb building. Negates fall damage when dropkicking over water for a clutch save. Blocks the hunters claw (tendril claw). Prevents stun from hunter pounce or tackle on a teammate.

No. Its not preferable because it will make you stagger.
The only time it is preferable is in btz.
When youre over water
Hunter tackles and then pounces you over water. This causes you to take fall damage in water.
Since roll doesnt work over water. Shield is better in that scenario.

Because ai damage is the only damage value that doesnt scale to 100. So shield prevents massive damage from 1 or 2 hits from virals

I think it probably scales down a bit, because on purely anecdotal experiences it took me longer to earn the final upgrades for Mutation 0 than it did the first one for Mutation 2.

It takes longer because you need more levels for skillpoints as you progress.
So get important skills first.
Speed upgrades, tackle, and the aerial gp should be your first unlocks.

Be the Zombie is good and a lot of fun but it isn't for everyone, some like it some don't. You should try it few times alone as well as with friends and judge yourself. You can get clickers by looting nests during an invasion, yes, don't think you can get king from it but clicker is same as king except it has different name that's all.

It's a difficult mode with a steep learning curve. But you can get gold weapons and good loot if you get to the Underdog rank. Try it out and play a few games I suppose, see if it's anything for you.

@hidden sphinx It heavily depends on hunter's experience. Fighting and killing the hunter is easy if they just stand there doing nothing, it's only few swings but that's not how gameplay works. It'll be harder to accomplish that depending on how good the hunter player is as well as their hunter's skill-tree progression.
