dudes i was watching clips of skilled survivors on youtube and most of them shot their crossbow under themselves? Why the hell they are doing that>?
any ideas?
like the dude avoided a tackle, dealt some damage to NH and when just randomly shot the ground
with a rossbow

It's so they can put medkits on

They do themselves damage do they can use hard/nightmare medkits which heal over time therefore keeping there health topped up

You can't have another player in a match doing nothing, since human count scales. So the player will have to fight buffed hunter, deal with more nests, etc, all alone.

@shy prawn In Mutation 4 tournaments we mostly require screenshots of match results from the first games. Players usually like to stream their matches anyway. If something weird happens during match, player will surely notice it and can take record of it.
Only the finals must be recorded/streamed.
So far I havent heard anyone cheating, prolly because participants are HC players selected by the moderators; known cheaters will never get accepted to the tournament.

Yea but you gotta kill nests anyway. Faster you do it, faster you can proceed to next one. It got nothing to do with hunters behaviour.
Okay, killing hunter glitches. Axe animation cancel would be one, theres atleast 2 ways to do it. Running with charged heavy melee. Poison bolts are glitched but necessary exploit.
Sidedropkicks idea is mostly get huge leap to side, away from hunter. Same with sideslide

You get 3 grapples. 4 if you wait like 3 seconds. But if a stupid viral hitting you on your grapple throwing and you get like 3 feet off the ground, it wastes a stupid grapple turn. Dumb asf.

One thing I hate most about hunters... hiding and swinging around with doing nothing when they have tackles and ground pounds and more. Quite annoying. Once you turn your back for 3 seconds, boom. They're behind you trying to hit you with a spit. Literally waste of time dealing with that crap.

Thats smart way to play as hunter. When spits are out, threaten the humans and slow down their way to nests. Sometimes just clicking tendrils ground near survivors stops em for long time

The thing is that hunter is underpowered without spits against team. Sure they can try gp and listen that cry about "gp spam". Tackle is obsolete since theres high chances to get instakilled when it misses.
Best way is to try play time and wait spits to regen. Wait for the right moment

as annoying it may feel as human. But when you know the drill, its just free path to nests

Backslide, Side slide, side dropkick, stationary dropkick, hook canceling on water or Night hunter to reset your anim, bozak bow anim canceling, hiding in walls as survivor (ive seen this done by people when there whole team dies), fire explosives on nests (poison bolt + tackle slice angel sword + throwing stars and a single nest is gone in 3 seconds), fire explosive with bozak bow, dropping a grenade and then waiting for NH to gp it will insta kill, etc.

If you see a cheater, best to quit match and find another one. By playing with them, you give them exactly what they want. If it's Steam, go to their profile and report it (Won't do much, but it's better than nothing.), you may grab a proof and report it to Techland forums as well. Not sure if consoles have any reporting means.

You sort of keep it in mind. You'll begin to understand and remember it after playing a bit with HUD on and watching hunter's energy.

Sometimes there are hunters that are just there to fuck up your car by ground pounding it even though you are not near it, only use pounce and use a horde spit on a roof even though the are rank carnivore. Those kind of hunters kinda destroy the mode tbh

The speed exploit doesnt work on console, yeah, using tendril over and over will make you faster but not to the speeds I get. I have tried on console, it is impossible.

The using tendril over and over again is only a small part of it. The rate at which speed is gained is caused by skipping over something that would slow you down drastically in any other situation.

It's a fact that duplication doesn't affect the invasions significantly, however the fact that they're cheating is still there, this type of players usually can't be trusted. For instance, you can easily run out of NH boosters if you use it frequently. Duplication prevents that.

@light crest That guide seems to be outdated. iTackle glitch was removed at august if I remember right. Theres now only few forms of it left, and they are more situational. Like after missed tackle you can do instant tackle straight from recovery animation. It requires theres another human standing somewhere front/side of you and by holding just tackle key down while aiming him

No, hunter ranks don't decide nor tell how good someone is, it's purely aesthetic. You may see a hunter with apex rank who just downloaded save or an experienced player starting new hunter save, it means nothing.

Instead of rank, the main thing you should be focused on is your skill and experience, these can't be taken away from you, and it's what truly matters.

Yeah you can roughly tell how skilled the player is based on ranks, but it's whatever. It can be faked in some cases or taken away / reseted / manipulated, etc, so not a big deal in the end.

I wouldn't call it anything special, not in Dying Light, seeing so many things going on which can influence and manipulate it. After reaching final rank and play a bit with it you'll start to realize how useless and worthless it is.

You'll also have GP. It'll be hard, but in the long run the mutating is necessary for the endgame skills which are extremely useful especially against good humans.

Get tackle first and use it, it's good source of experience, then perhaps get speed and tendril skills, train with tendril sprint technique and tackle combined. Also don't upgrade GP's last knockback skill, it makes GP spit technique harder to use.

Well I noticed after a certain skill (spit charge or ground pound knockback Idk) that the spit takes longer to come out

@light crest and others, dont use quickjoin. It will pair you with anyone available atm, even with pros.
Matchmaking+profile sniping imo best way to find fair match.
What comes to gp spit: most experienced playerd dont upgrade gp knockback radius because it will make sticking spit harder.
Techland reduced time of aim assist after gp some time ago, so gp spit isnt so foolproof now. However if you start charging spit on gp and launch it as soon animation ends, you should be able to stick it /w help of auto aim.

@north forum Ye well I used to get that skill in case I am out of stamina so I have a chance to retreat if they dont dropkick or kill me first. I use spit smash only when they are too occupied with the nest (UV block + spit smash + pounce) or in closed rooms.

And for quickjoin, for now I didnt have any people that were much better than me, seemed pretty much balanced for me. Except that one time where it took me to two people, but got em once too. I think if you have luck, you'll get someone who's balanced with you

Btw does anyone know a good software to record Be The Zombie? OBS Studio couldnt seem to handle it and it froze on so many parts for 1 - 2 minutes. So disappointed right now, these were so good fights and I enjoyed them, and now they are just in my mind until I forget how they were.

For Invasions, I run Grapple Hook, Night Hunter Booster, the UV Flashlight and Zaid Flares

You can easily drink a NH booster in 4th slot then switch to your shield from inventory. I do that sometimes.
