@limpid ledge okay try NV's combat system. Bad but better. On lower difficulties you can mindlessly charge at enemies without any worry. On hard difficulty you need to pick the right ammunition type and tactic for every enemy. Take enemies like deathclaws they charge at you and are a real pain in the ass, and have the ability to 2/3 hit you with the best power armor. You need to either use a high caliber armor piercing round to eliminate them, or incapacitate them with bean bag rounds and then cripple their legs so they can't charge at you. You can't get away with spamming stimpaks.
Unarmed also had more variety with custom moves you could unlock like upercuts/crosses and backsweeps.
