You get a bit more. But it's only really noticeable from Normal to Hard. Suicidal and Hell on Earth have so many Zeds and the difficulty is much higher till the point where the extra XP doesn't make up for the extra time it takes to complete it.

Suicidal can be a good option for endless though since the Zeds will be sprinting towards you. It's a good struck of balance between speed and effort while on Hell on Earth you just get too many Zeds that will eat up your time.
But of course endless is like Stuffed Turtle. It's grindy and fast but can easily burn you out.

The RPG aspects of the game seem far ahead (according to what we've been shown) compared to pretty much all other FPS titles I can think of.

Yeah, King Fleshpound is definitely not what you want as a Demolitionist because of his incredible speed which will allow him to get close to you and render your explosives rather useless.
I'd say KFP is the easiest boss for a Berserker like myself though.
Abomination is probably one of the worst ones because of his spawns. Crowd control of the spawns is quite difficult with the limited ranged weapons the Berserker has.
