but you can replay chapters and select which checkpoint to play from in a chapter

stuff you find or do will just unlock in the flowchart

in short WB forbid Miller to design the game, and the devs end up using a bit older assets and concepts for the Fury Road trilogy, now knowing what is going to happen in the future with Mad Max universe, they were workng with concepts that were in development for 15 years 🤷
the universe is as rich as Star Wars - every object you see on screen and in the game have complete canon backstory

Miller wanted to make the game himself to direct it and stuff like that but that didnt happen

there is a easter egg in the game - finding the missing spoiler on Max car from the Fury Road movie, hence the car in the movie misses its spoiler
