Just did a code count. We have 144,634 lines of Java code, use a lot of NMS, and have two different Paper forks. So 1.15 isn't happening for quite a while.

Because of the new chunk system. Mojang made it possible to have chunks loaded but not tick, or some crap. And entities really screw with that because they want to tick and move and stuff

i think the argument of what version has statistically more players per version is flawed, because the argument is the pvp community does not like, players who go on a server specifically made to pvp with other players, and players who are into that sort of thing, are usually on 1.8 or 1.7
