the campaign is basically you go through outpost to outpost on various biomes (which all gets deeper and deeper), along the way you do jobs like, maybe find a broken down sub and get the transmitter, kill a rival pirate submarine (nuke shells are great for this), go outside into an underwater cavern and destroy their egg clusters, liberate a fallen colony from either monsters or pirates etc

then you use that supply to buy various stuff like fuel, ammo, guns and medical supplies, or upgrade your ship by improving the hull or adding new guns to it

if you have it enabled, theres an FTL like radiation system that sweeps the map from left to right so you have to keep moving to the next biome instead of camping on easier ones and farming them, unless you wanna get caught by the radiation wall
