Ok so I found where hollow knight resides on this

I know everyone has been very intently watching this fake game's progression

But imma just copy-paste what I wrote

Magic and tech won't depend on each other, but like... here is an example: In the game Hollow Knight, there is a certain material called "pale ore", which is used to upgrade your weapon. Now, in my game, I just imagine pale ore is really really strong. I also imagine the universe of hollow knight takes place on another planet, because it is filled with human-sized bugs that have their own developed kingdoms and language.

So, in order to actually get to that planet, you can take the tech route, which involves making a starship and going to that planet the boring way (I haven't even mentioned there are a bunch of different kind of ships you can use but you get the point), OR you can go the magic route and do some kind of advanced super hard to do teleportation spell.

And then, once you get back to earth or whatever planet you decide to live on, you get to use the pale ore to reinforce certain things like magical blast shields or something as an alternative to going the tech route and having a really complicated recipe for something equally as strong. So that is what I am talking about when I say tech and magic are "woven together"
