A rate up banner is when specific units get a big boost in your chances of pulling them.

Usually it's one unit of the highest rarity and 2 of a lower rarity, at least in the game I play. So you have a 50% chance when you get the highest rarity of unit to get that specific unit on the banner

I've been playing Alchemy Stars. I like it a lot so far and they're quite generous and F2P friendly, especially with Christmas and New Year's happening.
