Like for me at least, yes the enemies are still the typical "walk at you, stab" and DG doesnt really have any focus on too much platforming where HK's controls shined at.
but having stuff like, abilities, parrying systems and what not made it more "engaging"
is it perfect/balanced? not REALLY but i have a ton of fun fighting the enemies as much as the bosses

unpopular i know, but sometimes in my replays i see HK mobs as simply either a geo provider or a blocker to the next boss which is where i get my fun, whereas DG im actively engaging mobs because using my abilities/different weapons on them is fun

TC does a great job making mobs naturally occur with the world, but I'd love for there to be more enemies that are out of place but on a mission, like the hunter enemies in the hunter's nightmare in bloodborne, or hornet herself (but not just in boss form)

yeah, if i was given one wish to add something for SS regardless implementation difficulty (were talking theoretical levels here)
one thing i wish is a merc company but each of their individuals are unique, instead of them just being the same guys with the same moveset etc, while only being a miniboss. Which would make sense if theyre a bunch of random freelancers brought upon a single banner than some organized uniformed group. Kinda like how midway my Battle Brothers playthrough if it goes well, ill have merc ranging from:
- The guy in plain gambeson with a crossbow
- Dude wearing old ass rusted equipment thats its already going green from the amount of weathering
- The big one whos wearing so much heavy armor you cant even see their face
- light armor guy carrying a fuck you greatsword
- that one dude thats somehow carrying golden armor that came from the ancient emperor himself
- my banner guy whos wearing a wolf skin on their heads
you get the idea, essentially them being individually fleshed out

Sidenote, I really love the voice acting in the game. The performances are surprisingly great, especially Death's.
Also, there are multiple endings and getting one locks you out of the others so you can either get the best one the first time around or replay the game multiple times.
Which is kind of intended and makes sense in context but I won't say anything else to avoid spoilers

i still prefer Blasphemous' atmosphere personally
there are some humor in Deaths Gambit, which is nice that its not taking it self TOO seriously and i like it, but for more of a "complete" atmosphere i prefer Blasph
