basically you're put in an area with lots of enemies and you have certain criteria to meet that will give you points for doing things to those enemies. for example, the one i just did required that i get headshot kills and hit weak points on the enemies, and if you do those things a number of times, you will get a max score and you will no longer get points for doing those things. a lot of the mastery challenges require a bit of finesse as the enemies are almost the perfect amount needed to get a max score, which means you need to make every death count towards one of those goals, otherwise you'll be a few points short of the maximum. there are 3 types of challenges, generally, there are bear challenges, that are fairly aggressive and make you fight lots of enemies at once with melee weapons, there are wolf challenges that usually give you just a bow with infinite arrows and make you take down enemies from a distance (like the one i described earlier) and then there are raven challenges, which are stealth-based. you have to assassinate all of the enemies without being seen, even if you kill the enemy that saw you, you have to restart becasue remaining anonymous the entire time is part of the scoring criteria. really annoying stuff

I think the worst part of all of this is that Bedrock was designed with mobile devices as the lowest common denominator, which is why it is so much more shit on consoles than Legacy Console edition (i miss them). So, you are playing Bedrock as the developers intended, and it's still shit.
