another example i could personal give is probably Dying Light, iirc theres no fast travel but the game is basically a parkour simulator so just running across the streets from roof to roof, ledge hanging and stuff is visually AND mechanically fun

just seeing Hornet to chaining ledge climbs, long jumps, pogos all in one smooth motion will definitely make it more engaging vs to HKs much more simple platform to platform traversal

but since it’s a metroidvania and there’s blocks in the way itd be really easy to get your momentum killed by ramming into a wall
