Just circling back on a question about HKMP, the multiplayer mod. I'm on the windows steam 1.4.3.2 version.

So me and my friend can each make a server and then join our own server. The connection on ZeroTier also goes fine. However, when the one that doesn't host the server tries to connect to the designated IP address, the connect button just disappears, and we aren't connected or shown an error message? What could be the reason for that?

Other than HKMP we only had ModCommon installed iirc

We both can use other mods just fine, we just opted not to use them and try the bare minimum hollow knight multiplayer experience

Yep, then make sure to rename it, it automatically renames to "User1.dat" but if you didn't put in user1.dat and instead put in say user3.dat, rename it to that

And just put it back in your save files

We both use ModInstaller and have enabled ModCommon and MultiplayerClient, and he has enabled MultiplayerServer too. He forwarded port 29650 while I did not.
I then tried to connect to his public IP address, but nothing happened.

You probably just have the wrong randomizer version

Pretty sure it's expecting the beta build of it. Not the installer version
