Hello when I install the nodding api using the mod installer, all of my custom map markers stop saving. I haven't tried the pinned version yet. Is this a thing that might have been fixed?

Ok. I tried the pinned version of the mod installer (I tried the newest beta modinstaller 2) and the problem is still happening. Specifically: when looking at the save file using an editor, the array that holds the custom map markers has the right number of elements, but the elements are empty

I have never tried them with mods on, actually. I know that there's a visual glitch involving map markers with the RandoMapMod, but I do not know if they behave normally otherwise.

Hmm. I have no mods installed. They break immediately upon installing the modding api. When you reload the game, all of the markers are stacked up in the middle of the map

hmm I noticed something else about the map pin problem. It occurs when loading a file, not when saving

the pin data is lost at that time

#

i also notice some differences between the load screens of the modded and unmodded versions. the unmodding version has a screen that says "when this symbol appears, do not quit the game" or something like that. the modded version skips that screen. I wonder if that is bypassing loading the pins somehow?

@tight sentinel After googling, I navigated to my steam folder and deleted a file called ClientRegistry.blob and restarted my pc. The message no longer appears

Alright, so I'm attempting to install the mac version of the modinstaller. I was able to download and set it up without issue but when I open modinstaller absolutely nothing happens. Home bar still even says Finder so it doesn't appear to be hanging or anything. Cannot see any other programs in the force quit menu. Deleted the files and redownloaded, no change.

i dont intend on doing this but couldn't you just use a mod/cheat to get every ending extremely easily? like teleport to every dreamer and have a nail that has 10,000 damage and unbreakable masks, is there any reason why you cant do this?

That can happen to any of the bosses, even on vanilla HK. I'd suggest closing out of your game and repoening, and if that doesn't work, disable some mods or try again.

So I'm on Mojave and I was able to get the modinstaller to open earlier. I was able to install multiple mods and play Rando 3 without issue earlier. In fact, I still can. I went to open modinstaller again and it just loops the first Mod API installer indefinitely and won't open the menu.

Still am curious and would like to know, if anyone knows, where the actual randomizer mod files save to on a Mac when installed from ModInstaller because they are not in "/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Hollow Knight/hollow_knight.app/" with the other mods.

quick question, with the installer, I dont see a way to type the file location and it requires it to be a file under desktop, which my hollowknight is not, is there a way to just enter the path?

Reset the installer and then re-run it. There’s a how-to in the pins for resetting. It should ask for your install directory after

I just got into modding Hollow Knight. I got ModInstaller and I really like Lightbringer so far but I whish it wouldn't change my skin. I got CustomKnight but each time I move to a different room as well as random moments is changes back to the LB skins/hud.

I did as much googling as I could and couldn't find a workaround. any known solution?

Hi, can somebody help me set my respawn point in the Abyss using the Debug Mod? I'm trying to verify that what I wrote in a fanfic could actually happen in Hollow Knight. Edit: Zaliant, I'm honestly wondering why too. It's 70 chapters long. If it turns out to not be possible, I'm probably going to try to rewrite it all again. The escape from the Abyss with very few upgrades (or none), I mean.
