if you read the numbers in order it kind of goes along with the chronological order of map progression

I'm trying to play the hollow knight randomizers but it seems that when I start my game with either of them installed, my game crashes on startup. Other mods seem to work fine so I'm wondering if this is an issue with the mods themselves and I need to wait for an update or an issue with them interacting with my pc in some way and it's more of a no go situation.

hey, was wondering why when i start up hollow knight with the modding API and debug dll from Ax2u's guide in the speedrunning page guides I only get a black screen (I'm on 1.2.2.1, folders named Hollow Knight)
^when I start a game I mean. I can open the game to the title screen but when I click start new game it just gives me black screen. It has modding version and debug mod in top left corner

Nah, I had already run it before but when I installed mod/debug I pressed new game and black screen before intros loaded
That sentence confuses me. But there's two possible issues
- You have the wrong mod versions
Or 2. The downpatch download wasn't allowed to finish completely
Well unless theres new ones that y'all have made since ax2u put the modding guide on speedrunning im using those, and i've been doing runs on 1.2.2.1 for a few days before I decided I should practice w/ save states
Unless it beings on 1.2.2.1 doesn't necessarily means its downpatched all the way and im missing something
We've seen people not let the download finish. so the game will start, but will be missing assets still, leading to infinite black screens. Biggest issue is usually the intro stuff missing

The debug mod is a different dll from the api
The API is named assembly_csharp.dll
And they go in different spots

Also, are you sure you downpatched right. Did you replace your current patch directory? Cuz that's what you're showing me here
Did you just swap the folders
Well when I downpatched from steam console it put the downpatched file in the steam/content folder

Honestly I'd just start all over. Wipe everything and start from zero
I don't know what state your current files are in right now
So a complete reinstall is the only way that I can really help you
Reinstall your vanilla current patch. And do the downpatch process again, following the downpatching 2.0 guide on src
Which will give you 2 different game patches installed in steam

adding it to steam has no functionality other than making it easy to launch if you use steam a lot

What you're doing different from last time is keeping your downpatched versions very far away from the current patch version

I have a problem with the bonfire mod i would like some help with if possible, my OS is windows and i bought the game through steam, the problem is that whenever i level up to around level 10-11 my damage goes down to a point where i have to hit a vengefly 3 or more times to kill it, and strength does nothing to help with this. I mainly build luck, and it triggers at around luck level 9.

For some reason, when I try to close the randomizer options, they dont close and go over everything else preventing me from pressing Start Game even.
I have everything needed, according to the Read Me file, is there anything I could be doing wrong?

the back button is still there but has no effect.

Monitor size, thats all.
My monitor is kinda square, so it defaults to putting the empty sections on the top and bottom, I assume.

Though, the only extra menu that I opened was the Mods menu which works normally.
all the base game menus work normally as well.
To be fair though, it isnt too game breaking, as the settings themselves save.
I can load it well, and thus I will just need to go in, change settings, leave the game, go back in, and then load.
A little inconvenient. But it still works.
So its not too bad.
I'll probably still use it constantly regardless.

Trying again from step 1 usually solves things though if you wanna give it another try
ive done it about 4 times 😦
you just have to install manually on Catalina
go to the app -> contents -> resources -> data -> managed
replace assembly csharp with the API assembly from the modding gdrive
and then make a folder called mods and put your mods in it
